Lake Havasu City is known for its beautiful beaches and superb fishing and boating opportunities. But you might be surprised to know that there are several enjoyable golf courses in the area, playable year-round.
Golfers enjoy pleasant weather and stunning views while playing on smooth greens without sand getting in places!
Whether you’ve played before or are new to the game, the golf courses in Lake Havasu City are gems for golfers of all skill levels. While there are only a few courses in the city, they’re well worth a play. And if you want to try other courses nearby, we've included several others within an hour’s drive of Lake Havasu City.
Wherever you choose to play, have fun and enjoy the splendid natural surroundings that golf courses offer golfers!
The first golf course built in Lake Havasu City, the West Course is a traditional-style course that opened its first nine in 1967, and then the back nine two years later in 1969. At 6,466 yards in length, it’s a par-71 course that will keep you on your toes. Water hazards can be found throughout the course, and strategically-placed sand traps may trip up even the best golfers. Take note that this course has a slope rating of 127, making it more challenging for new and less-experienced golfers.
The staff keeps the course in prime condition by overseeding the Bermuda grass on the fairways and greens with ryegrass in winter. No matter what time of year you’re in the mood to play a round, you’ll find sleek, smooth fairways and greens waiting for you!
The East Course opened up in 1977, due to the huge popularity of the original West Course. It’s shorter than the West Course, coming in at 6,140 yards from the tips. But don’t think that shorter means easier—East Course is tricky and demands absolute accuracy. The fairways are narrow and require straight shooting to avoid losing your balls and dropping shots. Each hole features strategic bunkers, many guarding the speedy and true medium-sized greens.
Three holes are touched by a sizable lake, the largest on the course. Elevation changes also feature throughout the course, adding to the challenge. Aside from a fun and challenging round of golf, East Course affords magnificent city and lake vistas.
If you’re short on time or just feel like playing a quick 9-hole round instead of a full 18 holes, Bridgewater Links Golf Course at London Bridge Resort is for you. It stretches to 1,808 yards and showcases beautiful views of Bridgewater Channel and London Bridge. Bridgewater Links is a par-30 course with a moderate slope rating. Open to both resort guests and the public, booking a round in advance is recommended.
New ownership is proud to welcome the public to the recently redesigned 18-hole par-72 championship golf course at Iron Wolf Golf and Country Club. Located at 3275 N Latrobe Drive in the Refuge Homeowners community, Iron Wolf's new features include Augusta white sand, added tee boxes and beautiful new water accents. The course also offers beautiful green fairways, challenging rough and several elevation changes.
These courses are worth playing and are within about an hour’s drive from Lake Havasu City.
Lake Havasu City area golf courses are well worth playing if you’re looking to pass the time or work on your golf swing. Of the three courses in the city, you have the choice of a 9-hole round, a challenging 18-hole round and an 18-hole course that’s better suited for newbies. Something for everyone!
And keep an eye on Iron Wolf Golf Club. It’s on track to become a great course that golfers at all levels can enjoy, as well as a social hub for watching the big game on TV and enjoying drinks and meals with friends.
