Looking to enjoy an afternoon out and about on dry land in Lake Havasu City? Why not lace up your tennis shoes and give one of our court sports a try.
Whether you have a racket or not, you can practice your serve at one of our Tennis or Pickleball courts. Have a few more players than a doubles game, our volleyball courts are great for some good-natured team bonding.
Tennis is one of the most popular sports in the entire world. It's a great way to break a sweat, feed the competitive spirit, and it only needs two people. Whether you are a seasoned vet or beginner, Lake Havasu City has courts for every type of tennis and racquetball fan./
The Lake Havasu Tennis Association maintains eight outdoor courts at the Lake Havasu High School. These courts are free for use by all visitors and are open from dawn til dusk. Being located at the high school, the only time these courts are not available is when students use them for tennis practice or for programs within their physical education. Other than that, they are free to use on a first-come basis.

Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the country and is gaining speed internationally. Pickleball is a paddle sport that can be played by people of all ages and skill levels; it is a fun sport combining many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong all into one sport. A Pickleball court is the same size as a doubles badminton court and uses a pickleboard paddle (smaller than a tennis racquet but larger than a ping-pong paddle) and a plastic ball similar to that of wiffleball (with holes through it).
Lake Havasu City is home to a non-profit Pickleball Association and games are played weekly at the Lake Havasu City Aquatic Center, the Ark Center, Dick Samp Memorial Park and Telesis Prepatory Academy. For more information about this game, contact the Lake Havasu City Pickleball Association.

A great way to be active outdoors is with a game of volleyball where you can have a beach community vibe in the middle of the desert all year long. Break a sweat diving for the ball in the sand and jump in any number of nearby designated swimming areas afterwards to cool off. There are picnic areas with BBQ pits that can be reserved through the Parks and Recreation Department to complete the beach day of relaxation, sport, and food in the sun.
London Bridge Beach has one sand volleyball court available and Rotary Community Park has six sand volleyball courts open to the public.
All of the courts operate on a first-come-first-served basis and require that you bring your own volleyball. Co-ed volleyball takes place at Rotary Community Park every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm, where the sand is well-groomed and a ball retention wall is in place to help keep the ball from rolling into the water. The weather is usually pleasant and experience levels vary from beginner to expert, so don't be shy!
Groups can make day of reservations through the Parks and Recreation Department at 928-453-8686 for $15 to ensure court availability. Beach volleyball is perfect for family outings, birthday parties, and beach BBQs.
