Skimming across the lake in a race boat or touring upriver on a PWC are thrilling and popular ways to enjoy the water, but there's also the appeal of slowing down and really getting to see some of the sights you miss when going 50 mph, not to mention the added benefit of a good workout.

Paddleboarding is an ever-growing sport in Lake Havasu

Kayaking, canoeing, and standup paddleboarding are all great ways to view Arizona wildlife, explore hidden coves, and get a little (or a lot) of exercise, without having to deal with pesky currents or waves. There are even kayaks that have been especially equipped for fishing, with foot pedals, rod holders, and fishfinders.

Canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards are available for sale and rent at multiple locations throughout Lake Havasu City. Each rental company operates a little differently and carry different equipment. Some are located on the water, making rentals as easy as showing up and jumping in the lake. Some rental facilities may require equipment pick-up, but in some cases deliveries will be made within a certain area. Call ahead and confirm a rental company that best fits your needs before heading out.

There are also several non-motorized launch ramps along the lake that are open 24 hours a day and are free to use. Depending on where you'd like to explore, the locations are at the north end of the lake, centrally located, and at the bottom of the lake near Bill Williams River National Wildlife Refuge.
