Without doubt, golf is meant to be a simple pursuit enjoyed in the great outdoors and the fewer man-made disturbances, the better. Now golfers can study one local course before they leave home, thanks to an online hole-by-hole photo gallery of Bridgewater Links Golf Course at the London Bridge Resort.
Our thanks goes to whomever decided to photograph each hole and provide a handy description of the challenges for mastering each. It’s a great way to study the design before you leave. Then once you arrive, you can read specific advice for each hole on your smartphone before taking a swing.
For instance, consider Hole #3 Par 4, 205 Yards …
Even though it is a short par 4, this will be by far the toughest tee shot you will be hitting all day. You must hit over a large water hazard that continues to run the entire hole along the right side. With condos all along the left side, golfers are left with two choices:
- Go for the green by attempting to carry the hazard.
- Play it safe up the left side, but then leave yourself with an intimidating approach shot to the green.
Either way, your tee shot must be precisely struck in order to find dry land.
Your round culminates with the par 3 118 yard #9 which has the best view on the golf course. It features the wedding gazebo behind the green, a beautiful view of the resort, and to your far left, an awesome view of the Famous London Bridge. This short par 3 is a great finishing hole at Bridgewater Links Golf Course.
