Overview
Havasu 95 Speedway is an ASA-sanctioned paved oval track in SARA Park with stock car races in classes that include late model, modified, truck, street stock, legend, bandolero and factory stock. (If you'd like to understand the rules for each of these classes, see the chart below). Races run from September through May. The track opened in 1989 and has been run by its current management since 2005. Feel the intense energy of racing at Havasu 95 Speedway as powerful well-oiled machines rev their engines and fly around the track. Open bench seating provides a spectacular view overlooking the track, with a magnificent mountain range as a backdrop. Safety fences ensure that the excitement stays on the track where it belongs. An alcohol- and smoke-free family section is available. A VIP section in the middle bleachers provides food and drinks served right to your seat, complete with drop-down seat-back tables. There is also an open section where you can bring your own chairs to watch. The concession stands serve up hot dogs, hamburgers, tri-tip sandwiches, and more. Part of the charm surrounding the Havasu 95 Speedway is the opportunity to interact with drivers in the pit prior to races. These road warriors are real people with a passion for their sport and they love to talk about their equipment and experiences. If you really want to understand and appreciate what stock car racing is all about, get to the Speedway a little early and introduce yourself!
Waterless Boat Races
One not-to-be-missed event is the waterless boat race! Held only once or twice a year at the end of the season (this race destroys the asphalt, helping the contractors who regularly repave the course), racers drag boats behind them and try to smash their opponents boats in an effort to destroy them. The racer whose boat is the least destroyed wins.
Be sure to check their schedule for all upcoming races. Tickets are sold during Friday night Test & Tunes and on Race Day. Tickets may be purchased in advance from Peggy Gerchman at Peggy's Sunrise Café.
