Join Soroptimist International for a Street Scramble and Scavenger Hunt that begins and ends at the fabulous Heat Hotel adjacent the the world-famous London Bridge. This is a fun and exciting urban adventure foot race with teams of two to five people. Teams solve a series of clues and run/walk to the designated checkpoints along McCulloch Blvd. to complete the task (most tasks include finding the item/object and taking a group photo). Teams will have three hours to complete the race and the team that deciphers the clues, gets to the checkpoints, and completes the tasks in the shortest time wins! Prizes, raffles, and food drive. Prize for best team outfits/costumes. First 100 people to sign up receive finishers awards. The race route is slightly longer than three miles, but shorter than four miles.
Everyone can participate. All proceeds will stay in Lake Havasu City and be redistributed directly through the many projects that SI of Lake Havasu City does in the community. Event dates and times are subject to change. Please contact event coordinator to verify information.

Early bird registration is $15 until Jan. 31 for 12-year-olds and older, and $10 for children ages 4-11 years old, children who are 3 years old or younger are free.
CHECK-IN: Please check in no later than 9:00 a.m. The race will start promptly at 9:30. Race day registration and check-in opens at 8:00 am. Makai’s cafe opens at 7:30 a.m., if you check in early and want to grab a bite to eat before you start the race. Just make sure to be back to The Heat at 9:15. Pre-race instructions will be at the start line at 9:20 am. The race will start on time at 9:30 a.m.
WAIVER: Every participant must sign a Waiver…NO EXCEPTIONS!! To save time, a waiver can be e-mailed to you. Just print-out, sign and bring the day of the race
RESOURCES: If you think it might be helpful, you can use map Apps, smartphones, an ipad, ask a stranger for directions, or call someone from home. But a non-team member is not allowed to run/walk the race with you.
ATTIRE: It is suggested to wear good walking/running shoes and wear whatever clothing you will be comfortable, walking or running in. Depending on the weather you may want to layer up. The event will happen rain or shine. There will be a fun cheesy prize for the team with the most outstanding team outfits. They could be costumes, matching t-shirts or whatever fun idea your team comes up with. (However you do not have to wear matching outfits or costumes to have fun.)
CLUES & CHECKPOINTS:
A list of clues will be given on race day. (Your first clue will be to find the person with the clue list on the day of the race). Some of the clues will lead to a task to scavenge something, others may lead you to a certain location or item you must locate and take a group picture with. You do not have to complete the clues in any order or go to the checkpoints in any type order. You decide how you want to run the race. You don’t even have to go to the all the checkpoints if you don’t want to, you can turn back anytime. The only requirement to be an official racer/runner/walker of the Soroptimist Street Scramble is leave the start point get to your clue list and return to The Heat before the three hours is up. LOL We just want you to have fun!!
This event is for your body, mind and soul.
Body: Entering and completing the race (The scramble and scavenger part of the race)
Mind: Solving clues, decoding messages and following directions to various checkpoints along McCulloch Blvd.
Soul: Making great memories, helping to make the Soroptimist Street Scramble & Scavenger Hunt a great success. All proceeds stay within our community and are re-distributed thru various Soroptimist of Lake Havasu City award programs of women helping women. We could not do what we do without help from our community.
TIME: You have three hours to complete the race. Stick around after you finish, for the awards ceremony and raffles. Javalina Cantina right next door. So once you are done with the race and or after the event you can go have a drink and eat and relax after a job well done!
FINISH LINE/SCORES: Once you have figured out your clues and made it to as many checkpoints you could and completed the task and/or found scavenged items, make your way back to the finish line with your clue list! All teammates must get to the finish line together and step onto the finishers mat! Your time will be noted and just one team member with the digital device and clue sheet will show proof that you made it to the correct checkpoints to the scorekeeper. Then enjoy refreshments with the surrounding businesses, music and awards.
ATHLETICISM: You DO NOT have to be super athletic to participate in this event. The teams that decipher the clues the fastest, makes the best decisions on which checkpoints they go to first, will make all the difference. But remember….you don’t have to be one of the top three teams to have fun! You will be making fun memories here! All while exercising your mind, body and soul! You can run/walk the race competitively or casually. You participate in the race however you feel comfortable completing the race. You have three hours to finish. If you can walk around an amusement park, you can do this race! It will be slightly more than 3 miles but less than 4 miles. We have had participants from age 6 to 75+ years old! Soooo You can do it!
RESULTS: We will post results and photos a day or two after the race, on the website and on the Facebook Page. We would love if you would send us some of your checkpoint photos to show how much fun your team had, so we can share with everyone!
AWARDS: There will be an award ceremony between 12:45 and 1:00 pm. (If you are having lunch on the Javalina Patio, you should be able to hear the announcements). We will have awards for the top three teams, along with the first 100 entries, and other raffles for entering the race, and best outfits.
A). The FIRST 100 people to sign up receive a finisher’s medal and cinch bag.
B). Your team will have a chance to win First, Second or Third place (placement medals)
& team goodie basket with some fun cheesy prizes.
C). Every participant 4 and older will have a chance to win a raffle prize.
D). Also for joining the fun, you will have a great story to tell for years to come! Well maybe not years to come, but for sure at your next family/friend gathering!
SAFETY: Please remember that traffic will not be detoured and streets will not be closed. You must obey all traffic and pedestrian city laws. It is too easy to not pay attention with your head down in the clue sheet or reviewing your photos and step into the street. Please watch where you are walking/running.
REFUNDS: Sorry NO refunds for any reason. But you can transfer your registration to another person without any problems. Just let us know the person not participating and the new team members name.
WEATHER: The race will go on RAIN OR SHINE!!! So make sure to check the weather to see if you need to layer up or wear extra sun screen.
