The four competitive categories are Traditional Red (true Texas style with no beans or fillers; $35 entry fee), Homestyle (your favorite chili recipe – must have beans!; $30 entry fee), Chili Verde ($30 entry fee), and Salsa ($15 entry fee). All chili must be made on-site with cooking times ranging from 10am-3pm, depending on the category.
Each cook will also prepare and serve “People’s Choice” chili (which must include beans!) to the hungry public who will vote for their favorites. No ICS membership is required for the People’s Choice competition ($20 entry fee).
We are still accepting cooks – all are welcome to join the fun competition! All competitive category entrants must be ICS members prior to the competition and memberships are accepted online only at http://www.chilicookoff.com/register.
PUBLIC ATTENDANCE: $6 tasting kits will be sold to the public and chili will be served from noon-3pm, or until it runs out! Get there early!
