2 Day Itinerary

Planning the perfect getaway to Lake Havasu City is easy with luxurious lakeside resorts, endless adventures on the water, and relaxing spots to dine and unwind under the desert sky.

Adjacent to the world-famous London Bridge and Bridgewater Channel, the London Bridge Resort is an all-suites waterfront resort with many amenities including massage, cocktails, poolside fun, eateries and nightclubs.

Across the Channel on the Island, Heat Hotel’s waterfront suites are ultra-modern in design and offer intimate, up-close-and-personal views of the London Bridge and Bridgewater Channel.

After checking in, it’s time for a casual, low-key dinner at a local restaurant such as La Vita Dolce, Mudshark Brewery or Casa Serrano. It’s just what you need to relax before getting a good night’s rest for the fun day ahead.

Day One

Wake up in the morning feeling refreshed and ready for great adventure at the Lake. Paddle sports are a great way to kick off some fun in the sun. Paddleboard or kayak into the waters of Thompson Bay, then meander through the Channel and beneath the iconic London Bridge.

If you dare, go the extra mile and make your way around the Island to take in breathtaking views of the Lake’s north basin, or stop and swim for a bit at a few remote yet popular beaches that are more accessible by water than land. Be sure to keep an eye out for the functioning navigational lighthouse replicas along the shoreline.

Lunchtime could lead you to a popular tropical-themed outdoor patio at the Nautical Beachfront Resort’s Turtle Grille, with a waterfront table overlooking the bay and city. Your toes will almost touch the sand and water surrounding you. Later that afternoon, speed things up a bit and board a pontoon boat, or hop on a personal watercraft, and explore the Lake’s south basin for a few hours.

Copper Canyon on the California side and Steamboat Cove on the Arizona are just far enough downriver for you to really open the throttle and get that wind whipping through your hair. It’s a great stress-reliever, trust us. After docking that wave-making machine, clean up and dress for an upscale dinner at Cha-Bones, Barley Brothers Restaurant and Brewery, Javelina Cantina or Shugrue’s.

Take the opportunity to walk off a bit of that dinner by strolling through Bridgewater Channel after sunset. The enchanting shadows cast by the nostalgic streetlamps set the perfect mood for Havasu’s active nightlife scene awaiting you. For a slower change of pace, a narrated, three-hour sunset tour on Lake Havasu will fit the ticket for a memorable evening adventure. The excursion is informative, the sunset unforgettable, and the stars are endless and encompassing. You can bring your own food and beverages (including adult drinks), so plan ahead before boarding the boat.

After returning to shore, take another stroll along the Bridgewater Channel before heading back to your hotel. Fascinate yourself with how those shadows change and add interest as night moves on toward morning. It’s definitely worth the walk.

Day Two

Switching gears from yesterday’s active outdoor activities, grab some Havasu-style relaxation with a rental cabana boat! The cabana boats remain stationary in the water on the Bridgewater Channel shore, ready for you to enjoy them. They feature sofas, beach chairs, coolers stocked with ice, barbecues, flat screen televisions, and sound systems with USB stereos. These covered cabanas offer the relaxation of beaching a boat on the shores of Bridgewater Channel, without the worry of fighting the crowds for launching or mooring one yourself. So go ahead and slather on some sunscreen, put on your sunhat and sunglasses, grab a cold one and take in the flavor of local culture as it flows all around you!

Bring aboard a breakfast or picnic lunch with delicious food from any of our fine local take-out restaurants. Some favorites near the Channel include Makai Café on the Island, Fat Sub and Burgers by the Bridge. If you’re not ready to leave the water, Papa Leone’s Pizza will deliver food right to your boat. Keep an eye out for a kid heading down on a skateboard with your lunch!

In the late afternoon, return to your hotel room and begin packing it up for a return to reality after check-out in the morning. But before you go, evening brings one more opportunity for a memorable dinner at Martini Bay, homemade Italian dishes at Mario’s Italian Restaurant, or sushi and sake or a Teppan-style meal at Shogun.
