Lake Havasu State Park is located on the shores of Lake Havasu, and features clean white sand beaches and a large grassy area. The park offers panoramic views of the lake and mountains beyond. Picnic tables, grills and shade covers make this the perfect site to spend the day on the beach, or you may want to stay and camp awhile. There are also group picnic areas for that special family reunion! There are many activities that make a Lake Havasu vacation unique. For those who enjoy hiking and walking, the park has the Mohave Sunset Trail, a short but scenic 1.75 mile walk and the Arroyo-Camino Interpretive Garden, home to diverse species of plants and wildlife. Birdwatchers may spot an Anna’s Hummingbird or a Great Horned Owl. Leashed pets are welcome in all areas except the beach areas.
Lake Havasu State Park is a favorite launch spot for boaters. The park has two boat launch ramps (with 11 lanes), plus one dedicated to jet boats and personal watercraft (with 6 lanes), as well as non-motorized launch areas. The beach area is also accessible by boat, with courtesy docks available for drop-off and pick-up (15 minute mooring). Sometime in July 2016, State Park will complete the secondary launch area near the mouth of the Bridgewater Channel. This 8-lane launch ramp will accomodate up to 100 boat trailer parking spots and will alleviate launch congestion during busy weekends.
Camping facilities at the park include 47 tent and RV sites with 50 amp electric hookups and potable water at all sites. Restrooms, showers, picnic areas, dump station and on-site boat ramp use are included in camping fees.
One of the most popular things to do in Lake Havasu City is attend the myriad events that come to town throughout the year. Some of the major events that take place at Lake Havasu State Park include the Lake Havasu Boat Show, the Sand, Water & RV Expo, Bluegrass on the Beach, Buses by the Bridge, and Rockabilly Reunion.
