Create positive and memorable visitor experiences. Become a Certified Tourism Ambassador™ today!
“Tourism in Lake Havasu City is so much more than just economic impact or a bottom-line number. It's about creating positive experiences that visitors will remember for a lifetime.”
When visitors have positive experiences, they're more likely to return in the future and encourage others to visit Lake Havasu City. Positive visitor experiences multiply the many benefits of tourism for visitors, residents and Lake Havasu City area businesses.
Lake Havasu City invests a lot of money courting people to choose Lake Havasu City for their vacation, meeting, conference or event destination. But no amount of money will make up for the visitor having a bad experience, which negatively impacts Lake Havasu City's brand and overall image as a destination.
Lake Havasu City boasts beautiful lake and mountain vistas, 300 days of sunshine annually, endless outdoor adventure, premier special events and so much more. But a traveler's most memorable experiences involve the people he or she meets in the destination.
The Lake Havasu Tourism Ambassador Program equips tourism and hospitality employees, area business owners and community volunteers with the skills to turn every encounter with a visitor into a positive and memorable experience. Participants increase their knowledge of the region, learn how to answer commonly-asked visitor questions, and benefit from networking and career-building opportunities.
For future reference, each participant receives a manual about the area’s history, culture and recreational activities. Participants can use this information to help visitors learn about the area and find local attractions and activities.
Module 1: The Power of Tourism
Module 2: Discovering Lake Havasu City
Module 3: Knowing, Finding, Using Resources
Module 4: Exceeding Customer Expectations
Upon successfully completing the program, each participant receives a CTA pin and an industry-recognized credential that reflects their commitment to providing the highest level of service to visitors. Participants can include the CTA designation after their names (John Smith, CTA) and use the CTA logo on letterhead, business cards and in email signatures. Visitors are encouraged to look for the CTA logo wherever they stay, eat or play in Lake Havasu City.
